Eurotherm 590+

The course has been designed to familiarise Electricians, Technicians and Engineers with the many different aspects associated with the operation and maintenance of Eurotherm 590+ Drives.

Where possible, application specific exercises, actual drawings and programs listings are used to allow the students to gain the greatest possible benefit from the course.


To introduce students to the concepts and operation of 590+ drives, including the following areas:

  • Determine the drive fault.
  • Reset the drive.
  • Use the keypad.
  • Use ConfigEd Lite to reload

  • Understanding the
  • configuration parameters and facilities.
  • Understanding the connections to the drive.

  • DC motor theory.
  • Drive connections and inputs and outputs.
  • Drive commissioning, feedback loops, references and logic.
  • Investigation of the ramp, speed and current software modules.
  • Auto tuning.
  • Creating user logic.
  • Advanced facilities including diameter calculations.
  • Monitoring and configuring the drive with the keypad.
  • Using ConfigEd Lite.
  • Configuring and monitoring the drive using ConfigEd Lite.
  • Tuning of the current and speed loop.
  • Programming exercises.
  • Fault diagnostics.
  • Introduction to serial links.
